My career in education began in 1998, as a paraprofessional with special education at Dadeville High School. At the time I had a Bachelor's Degree in Juvenile Corrections from Auburn University at Montgomery. Many people encouraged me to attend graduate school. I received a Master's Degree in Special Education from Auburn University at Montgomery in 2000. I taught 1st and 2nd grade collaborative special education at Dadeville Elementary for four years. Once again I was encouraged to attend graduate school. This time was for counseling. I attended Alabama State University and obtained a second Master's Degree in K-12 School Counseling. I was a school counselor at Edward Bell School for five years. In 2008, I returned to Dadeville High School as a school counselor, the place where I began my career eleven years ago. Dadeville High School is home to me. I love my job, the staff, and most of all my students.
