Our Story

  • Located in central Alabama, rural Tallapoosa County boasts natural beauty, historical landmarks, and economic opportunities.  The county’s 41000 residents live in close proximity to the Auburn/Opelika and Montgomery industrial centers.  Once a center for textile manufacturing, the area is home to major automobile manufacturers, their suppliers, aviation, and high tech manufacturing.

The Edward Bell Career Technical center provides students from Dadeville, Horseshoe Bend, and Reeltown high schools with training for high-skill, high-demand occupations.  The Camp Hill, AL location was formerly the Edward Bell School.  A fire in 2006 destroyed many of the classrooms and the facility was rebuilt.  The recession and low student enrollment forced the Tallapoosa County Board of Education to close the facility after the 2010-11 school term.  The Edward Bell Career Technical Center opened in the Fall of 2013 and currently hosts five Career and Technical programs.
